Committee: Betty Penny Scholarship Award
The DHSBA Supports Higher Education

Pam Mansfield, Director of Fundraising, will be looking for 3 DHSBA members to serve on this Committee from late February to late May.

The Committee will arrange for scholarship applications to be made available to DHSBA members for their distribution to family members and friends, to receive and review submissions beginning on the deadline of May 15th, 2009 and to recommend the 3 top choices to Betty Penny, the Founder of the DHSBA, who will decide on the Scholarship Award winner. The winner will be honoured at the AGM in June.

BETTY PENNY AWARD APPLICATION FORM


The Betty Penny Scholarship is normally a $500.00 student award given to a graduating Grade 12 student with plans to attend university or college in the fall. This year the Scholarship award is for two students at $750 each. This has been enabled with the generous donation of $1000 by the Bank of Nova Scotia. The applicant, or his/her parent, or a family member, or his/her friend must be a member in good standing of the Durham Home and Small Business Association and provide a reference letter from that member. The awards committee and Betty Penny will select the winner.
